[VIDEO] New Honda Civic Type-R record at Nürburgring

The Honda Civic was first produced in 1997 and after 20 years it broke a world record. At the Nürburgring the Honda Civic Type-r set a time of 7 minutes and 43.8 seconds becoming the fastest front-wheel-drive production car ever. For comparison the Nissan GTR which costs 111,685$ set a lap time of 7 minutes 43.65 seconds. That means that for 34,775$ you can get a car that is nearly as fast as a GTR for one third of the price! This new Type-R has a complete new face very different from the previous FK2 chassis. The look is very sporty and aggressive with a big wing and all kinds of air vents. Personally i think it's a very good looking car, maybe there is a little bit too much going on but hey... Japanese automotive design is very different and i appreciate it. The car comes with a turbocharged 4 cylinder 2 litre engine with 306 hp equipped with the famous V-Tec. 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) takes 5.7 s and the top speed is 272 km/h (169 mph). Here are some pictures and a video of the Nürburgring lap enjoy!
