the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is born for drag racing

For long the guys at SRT wanted to build something unique, different from the competitors like the ChevroletZL1 or the Shelby GT350, well, with the new Challenger SRT Demon they really nailed it. For the first time we see a production vehicle equipped with drag racing radial tires and a transbrake which are components very specific to drag racing. Every part of this car works together to make more power, even the conditioning system is used to increase the performance by cooling the intercooler. Every detail of the engine has been tuned and perfected making it a car capable of even more power if someone was crazy enough to put his hands on it.
It comes with supercharged 6.2 liter V8 with a whooping 840 hp (with the Crate package) and 770 ft-lb of torque. When launched the Demon reaches accelerations of 1.8 g, 0 to 60 (0 to 96 km/h) takes just 2.3 seconds and it is able destroy the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph a time so quick for a production car that it has been banned from competition by NHRA (National Hot Rod Racing Association). This beast will have a starting price of 85,000 dollars and to make it more special the production will be limited to 3000 models. If this is too much for you Dodge also released a cheaper version the SRT Hellcat Widebody more suited to be a "daily-car".
